Bashar teaches that reincarnation is never imposed — it is a deliberate choice made by the soul in collaboration with the oversoul, guides, and other souls who will play key roles in the coming life, selecting a growth theme, scanning probable realities for the best time and place, and negotiating who will play which role. Between lives, most souls enter an astral 'review and rest' phase of processing the life just completed before reuniting with the oversoul, learning, planning the next incarnation, or choosing not to reincarnate at all. Because all incarnations exist simultaneously within the oversoul's experience, past-life memory is accessible through meditation, dream incubation, guided regression, or spontaneous recall — but Bashar warns not every impression is literal history: some are symbolic, some are parallel-life bleed-through, and some are collective archetypes.
