Bashar acknowledges other channeled sources (Abraham, Seth, Kryon, Pleiadian collectives, and others) as legitimate but differently-calibrated non-physical teachers, each serving different audiences, and teaches that no single source holds the entire truth, with conflicts between sources usually arising from human misunderstanding rather than genuine contradiction. He frames all spiritual tools and teachings — including his own — as 'permission slips' that make it easier to become more of who you already are, not substitutes for your own authority. Regarding self-proclaimed masters and gurus, Bashar says no one is obligated to accept another's words wholesale; a true master is only the first to show you that you are your own master, so anyone may pick and choose the ideas that resonate with them. He also cautions that any message passed through a human channel or scripture is inevitably colored by the receiver's background and beliefs, as with distorted interpretations of biblical commandments or the Urantia material, and that the real test of any teaching is whether it helps you create the reality you prefer, not blind devotion to the source.
