Definition

Bashar teaches that all animals are conscious beings capable of awareness, feeling, suffering, love, connection and play, and that the universe does not create unconscious things. He describes most animal consciousness as organized through group souls rather than the fully individuated souls humans have — an individual animal often functions like an extension of its species' larger consciousness — though animals in sustained close contact with humans, especially domesticated pets, gradually move toward greater individuation through that relationship. Animals act as perfect mirrors of the humans around them: a dog's skin condition, for instance, can reflect its owner's unaddressed anxiety, with pets taking on their people's emotional patterns so the person doesn't have to experience them directly in the body. He singles out cetaceans — dolphins and whales — as, along with humans, the only beings on Earth that reincarnate for causal/karmic reasons, teaching that other animals reincarnate out of attachment and a wish to serve as a loving reflection rather than out of karma.
