The Art of Receiving

CHNL-PRAC-033

Bashar teaches that most humans are skilled at asking and intending but have been conditioned to block receiving, and offers specific practices for dissolving the resistance that prevents manifestations from arriving.

Let me address something that is at the heart of why so many of you feel frustrated with the process of manifestation. You have learned to ask. You have learned to set intentions. You have learned to visualize. And yet the things you desire do not seem to arrive. And you wonder: what am I doing wrong?

Here is what I want you to understand: in almost every case, the issue is not with asking. It is with receiving. You have been so thoroughly conditioned to believe that you must earn what you want, that you must struggle for it, that you must do more and more to deserve it — that you have developed a deep unconscious resistance to simply allowing good things to flow to you without effort.

Receiving is a skill. It is a state. And it requires you to do something that may feel counterintuitive: to relax your grip on the outcome. Not because you do not care, but because your caring has curdled into grasping, and grasping contracts the very channels through which abundance flows.

Here is a practice I recommend. When you notice yourself waiting for something — a situation, a relationship, an opportunity, a healing — pause and ask yourself honestly: 'If this were to arrive right now, am I truly ready to receive it? Or do I carry some belief that I do not deserve it, that it will not last, that there must be a catch?' Those beliefs are the actual barrier.

When you find them — and you will — do not fight them. Simply acknowledge them. Say to yourself: 'I see this belief. I recognize that it was formed at a moment when it served me. And I am now choosing to release it, because it no longer reflects who I am.' That acknowledgment, that willingness, opens the channel.

Practice also the physical act of receiving. Allow someone to give you a compliment without deflecting it. Allow someone to help you without insisting you can manage alone. Allow yourself to eat a beautiful meal and feel genuinely, completely worthy of enjoying it. These small acts of conscious receiving are training your system to accept on a much larger scale.
