Many of you ask me how you can initiate contact with what you call extraterrestrial intelligence. You want to have your own direct experience, and I want to tell you that this desire is entirely appropriate. The impulse to reach out, to connect, to know that you are not alone in the universe — this impulse is one of the most natural expressions of the consciousness that you are.

Let me explain what contact actually requires, because many of you have been led to believe that contact is a rare, extraordinary event that happens to special people under special circumstances. This is not accurate. Contact is available to any being who has cultivated the internal conditions that make it possible.

The first and most fundamental requirement is vibrational sincerity. By this I mean: your desire for contact must come from a place of genuine curiosity, genuine openness, and genuine love — not from fear, not from a desire for personal power, not from a need to prove something to others. We — all the civilizations who are engaged with your planet — are exquisitely sensitive to intention. We read it before we read the words of your request. If the intention behind your desire for contact contains fear or an agenda of control, the contact that results will reflect those frequencies back to you in ways that may not serve your highest growth.

The second requirement is what I will call grounded expansion. This means that you have done enough inner work that your physical, emotional, and mental bodies are sufficiently stable to integrate the information that contact provides without destabilization. Contact with higher-dimensional civilizations can be intense. The frequencies involved are genuinely different from the baseline frequency of your day-to-day consensus reality. If your inner foundation is not stable, contact can be disorienting rather than illuminating.

The third element is a genuine letting go of expectations about the form that contact will take. Many of you expect contact to look like a Hollywood movie — a ship landing, a being in physical form. But most contact occurs in subtler forms: in the dream state, in sudden and inexplicable insights, in encounters with animals or with nature that carry an unmistakable quality of communication, in synchronicities that are too precise to be accidental.

Begin by simply sitting quietly, in a state of open receptivity, and broadcasting sincerely: 'I am here. I am open. I come in peace, in love, in genuine curiosity.' And then — this is crucial — pay attention to what follows. Not just in the next five minutes, but in the next days and weeks. Contact, when it begins, leaves traces everywhere.
