Angels, as understood in your traditions, are real — in the sense that the non-physical intelligences they describe are real. But they are not necessarily the human-shaped, winged beings of your religious iconography. That imagery is a translation — a way of making comprehensible, through the visual language of your culture, something that does not have a fixed form in the way physical beings do.

What are they, more precisely? They are specialized aspects of the universal consciousness field — highly focused streams of intention and intelligence that serve specific functions in the larger ecosystem of consciousness. Some are oriented toward healing. Some toward protection. Some toward inspiration. Some toward the facilitation of major transitions — what you call the Archangels. In my framework, they are more like highly specific frequencies of the universal field that have developed, over vast spans of time, into coherent patterns of intention and capability.

Spirit guides are somewhat different. Your spirit guides are, most commonly, beings who have had physical incarnational experience — who understand the specific challenges of physical life from the inside — and who have, between incarnations or from a perspective beyond incarnation, taken on a role of active support for one or more physical beings. They chose this role. It is a form of service that resonates with their own evolutionary path.

How do you communicate with these intelligences? Primarily through the channel of inner feeling and intuition — the same channel through which your Higher Self communicates.
